Time of Transition

Angie and I are in a time of transition. Our home church has asked us to return to Texas and serve as Interim Pastors. We have answered the call. We all mourn the sudden departure of our Pastor Dave M. Bell. Please keep the leaders and congregation of Destiny Church in your prayers. Angie and I are committed to this congregation and to see it cross over into new horizons of faith and ministry.

Angie and I are still considered to be Missions Ambassadors with an adjusted assignment to help our home church for the time being. We are so grateful to those who have supported us in prayer and with finances while in Austria. We ask that those who can to prayerfully consider continuing your supporting us through this transition. The move has been costly. Our desire is to pursue missions when our task is finished in Texas, Lord willing.

We recently returned to Austria and Switzerland to pack up our things, visit with the people, minister, and install leaders so that the ministry can contuinue in the spiritual wastelands of Austria and Switzerland. This was a difficult trip for Angie and I because of the relationships that had been made and the progress we saw with new converts and disciples. We rejoice that there is a light shinning in these lands. Please pray for Austria and Switzerland to experience a spiritual awakening like never before. These countries still remain in our hearts.

Angie and I are in communication with the saints and still practice some German language with them. We hope to return and encourage them in the future. We don't know at this moment if the same door will be open to us for long term. We leave this with the Lord.

Here are a few photos with the wonderful people of Bread of Life at a fellowship BBQ in our honor. We love these people. Everyone has been so good to us. They received us and made us to feel right at home. The kingdom friendships built here will last a long time.

Family news...

We have another grandchild on the way!! Praise God for a February delivery date! Our Grandaughter Faith is really growing and is so precious. Congrats to Heather and Matt.

Matt is currently ministring in Japan. What a great oppertunity for him. He has a great missions heritage in that countrty. What a blessing! He returns this Wednesday.

Stephen is doing well at his job as store mananger and plans to buy a home in several years in San Antonio.

Pray for Angie. She was in a car accident with our daughter. They where hit from behind at a stop light. Heather is doing well. Angie, who had neck surgery several years ago, has been having great discomfort in her neck and shoulders. Also, Angie's mother passed away and we made a trip to Georgia for her burial. Thank you for your thoughts and prayers.

International Opportunity...

While retaining our mission status, I'm excited about the invitaion to speak at the I.G.O. Pastor's Conference in England early October. There will be pastors from Europe attending. Please keep me in prayer as I prepare to speak several sessions. I will also speak at a church the Sunday following the conference. God is networking and building alliances from around the globe! I'm looking forward to seeing familiar faces..Jason and Sheryl King as well as the Armstrong's and the Black's at the conference.

The past two years have been quite a time of adjustment and adventure for Angie and I. We ask that you would keep us in prayer as we walk by faith following our Lord.

Prayer Request...

1. Pray for the Saints in Austria and Switzerland to grow in faith and knowledge of Jesus Christ.

2. Pray for Joe and Gerda Green who have returned to lead these works on our behalf.

3. Pray that the youth of these nations would be swept into God's Kingdom and become world changers.

4. Pray for harvest laborers to arise and shepherd the peopele.

5. Pray that we can pay our shipping of household goods from Europe in the next 7 days. $1400.

6. Pray that expenses to England will be provided.

7. Pray that we would abound in wisdom as we serve Destiny Church and look to the future.

8. Pray for Angie's health and God's provision.

God Bless You,
Doug and Angie Pitman

Good News! Hearts are being changed!

  • Attendance is on the rise at Bread of Life Church in Austria! Exciting things are happening with the current message series, “A Heart for God.” Lives are being transformed by God’s Word.
  • Children’s ministry is becoming a reality this month! This is a breakthrough for this pioneer work! I gave up my office at the church so we could make room for the kids.
  • Unifying efforts among regional pastors continues and relationships are growing. There is a wonderful spirit of unity among participating pastors. Our congregation will host a regional prayer/worship night on April 6th! Exciting!
  • Angie and I are continuing to build relationships with people in our community that are yet to come into the Kingdom. Please keep us in prayer as we reach out.
  • On a personal note: We are proud of our son Stephen. He was promoted to store manager at his job! God answers prayer. He and Samantha are currently making their wedding plans. We are excited for them. Heather and Matt are the perfect parents for our granddaughter Faith. It is so awesome to video chat with them and see Faith growing up so wonderfully. It doesn't go without saying that we do miss them all.

The following pictures help you to see what we see...

Praying into Reality for 2012!

  • Reaching into the city with Holy Spirit outreach strategies and equipping Believers for evangelism.
  • Continue to build a “prayer furnace” in our city where all believers can participate.
  • Re-Tool and equip the work in Hombrechtikon, Switzerland.
  • Inspire those with different talents and abilities to arise in passionate worship that allows for a Holy Spirit flow.
  • Continue in a greater way to connect, encourage and participate with other ministries for the purpose of Kingdom momentum and the transformation of our region.

Whatever your dream is, God's is bigger.

It was invigorating to be in Texas for the holidays and for the "Light Your World - His Hands, His Feet, His Voice" Missions Conference at out home church. It was an unusual experience at the same time. A year ago, this conference was a responsibility of mine as Missions Pastor at Destiny Church. This year Angie and I were presented as Missions Ambassadors for the first time. Wow! What a difference a year makes!

"Whatever your dream is, God's is bigger!"

Praying over Feldkirch, Austria from the mountains
that surround the city.

We are amazed at those whom God has joined with us in this mission. Our hearts are so blessed by the way so many have united with us for the transformation of Germanic Europe. We continue to sow our lives into this soil knowing that good things are on the way.

This is truly a breakout year for us in Austria. We are seeing hearts come together in the spirit of prayer and intercession with church leaders in this region. We will continue to invest in this prayer movement and call for unity among the churches in the Rhein Valley. I will be taking a group from Bread of Life Christian Center to a Vineyard Church in the city of Lustenau, Austria for a prayer gathering among churches. These are small gatherings but I believe we are punching throughout the atmosphere in Austria!

Prayer with Christian Leaders in Götzis, Austria

We are seeing Scripture fulfilled!

"...they will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover." - Mark 16:18

Healing Testimony! This dear lady in our church was miraculously healed in the altar following the message. Just like the scripture says...she received immediate healing in her arm that she could not move nor lift when she came to service. She was so excited that she was waving her arm and praising God for everyone to see. Others continued to pray for one another for some time afterwards.

"Light Your World 2012"...Destiny Church.

Here are a few captions the conference. The ministry was so anointing and really blessed us as we continue to focus on the Nations! Our hearts are humbled by those who sacrifice their finances and give much time in prayer for the Germanic harvest. Also, we were blessed to have Peter and Elisabeth from Switzerland and Marlene from Austria at the conference.

It was an honor to be with so many "Kingdom Giants" who serve around the world. This network of Pastors, Churches, and Missionaries is a real God thing!

On a Personal Note...

It was so good to see family and friends. I was surprised by the church in Austria that helped send me to Texas for Christmas. This was a totally surprise for the family and a great blessing.

As a new "Grandpa" I had the awesome privilege to babysit my granddaughter Faith August Bell. What a joy! Angie and I had so much fun together with Heather and Faithy.

I was able to go with my son to buy his first gun and go to the shooting range several times. It was a real highlight for me to spend time with Stephen and Samantha.

I'm looking forward to Angie's return to Austria February 29th. I miss her and so do the people in Austria! She postponed returning so that she could fly back with Marlene who only speaks German. This will be a blessing for Marlene.

I knew the Holy Spirit spoke to me...

Prayer Movement
"Break up the fallow ground, seek the Lord until righteousness rains down in this region." A renewed prayer focus for the harvest of Austria was to be cultivated in Feldkirch. I call it a "Prayer Furnace." A prayer movement is critical if we are going to see revival in this very difficult soil called Europe. The people are responding to the call and passionate prayer is creating spiritual momentum at Bread of Life Christian Center.

Pastors and Leaders meet for unified prayer...
I was invited to join pastors and leaders for prayer. Amazing time!
We are very well received and will have impact among
the group. This is a very special opportunity.

Marketplace "Favor" and "Relationships"

In the city we are receiving incredible favor with local politicians, merchants and restaurant owners. The former Mayor of Weiler was calling me his "Texas son" on our first meeting (Divine appointment) and he also invited me to be his guest and play golf at his club. We have an open invitation to have dinner at his specially reserved VIP table anytime. Also, I made good friends with the restaurant (above photo) owner as well. Wow!

This is a miracle! Things like this simply do not happen in the Germanic culture. It's supposed to take years before such a connection takes place for an outsider. Upon the first encounter there is a connection that only God can arrange. I've boldly explained who we are and what we do in Austria and they still want to fellowship! Please understand, that not being connected with the official State Church means that you are easily rejected. One shop owner actually gave me special cookies to take to Texas. When we return to Austria, we look forward to cultivating these relationships.

Building more vital relationships...(We loved them before we ever met them.)

World Missions Christmas Outreach
Bread of Life in Feldkirch, Austria partnered with "Hands of Grace" ministry in Guanajuato, MX (Rey Perez Jr. and his team) to help put, along with others, new shoes and socks on needy children's feet and a Bible in their hands! What a great privilege! Many gave their hearts to the Lord because of this outreach!

Back in Texas!
I (Doug) was blessed by the congregation in Austria with airfare to surprise my family for Christmas! They had no clue I was coming! What a great experience and surprise! Thank you Bread of Life! I was able to enjoy Christmas and the New Year with the family and Destiny Church friends! We have the most amazing children and granddaughter by the way. Smile.

"Your Kingdom is Here" CD Release Concert : Jason King
It was an awesome experience to attend this worship concert. I was proud of Jason and Sheryl and also those who had worked so hard on this recording project. I'd like to give a big "shout" out to my son-n-law Matthew Bell who worked in the studio, helped to write some songs and played guitar on the CD. Way to go people!

Keep Jason, Sheryl and their children in prayer as they launch out as Missions Ambassadors for England in February 2012! I know that somehow we will connect on the other side of the pond and see God's unique plan unfold for Europe!

Missions Conference at Destiny Church
We are looking forward to this great missions event. People will gather from all over the world and celebrate harvest time! What a great reunion and ministry time this will be! I will return to Austria January 22 and Angie will follow me sometime in February as we are still working on our transition to overseas.
